Overview

A gateway of layered sandstone forms on a Southwestern desert highway, carrying a curved band of LED along the road.

A gateway marks the point where open land becomes a place. This one is shaped like the red rock around it, in layered bands of sandstone-colored form, with a curved LED band running along its face. At sunset, wild horses run across a salt flat on the screen while traffic passes beneath. It is scaled to read at highway speed, well before the road reaches it.
